Today is a quick post to ask the question when is a good time to start a lifestyle change? But I think it makes it easier to ask the opposite, when is a bad time to make a lifestyle change?
I write this in advance of the festive period that is just around the corner. Is this a good time to start? Well the old saying “No time like the present” comes to mind but let’s be realistic the festive period is full of indulgence we all know we should try and avoid even from a mainstream approach to diet. The cakes, chocolates and alcohol are constantly on offer so to try and make changes now is probably not the best choice.
The temptations will for most people, just be too much when you haven’t given yourself chance to change habits and get into the swing of things. It’s a good time to plan and look ahead and give yourself a start date for when it’s all over and you can get focused again.
The same is true for any social event during the rest of the year. If you know you have a party, reunion, meal out or holiday they are really going to get in the way of making a good start on any lifestyle change.
As the title says my point really is, pick your moment, set that date when things won’t be there that get in your way and the temptations are not available. When the time comes make the switch, get healthy and feel great, so when the temptations do arise again they are easier to resist.
