Hello and welcome to my first blog post on my new web site Primal Nature.
I have been thinking how to get things started and came to the conclusion that a little bit of information about me and how I became involved in this kind of lifestyle would be good, in the hope that you may be interested in what I have to say and at least get the idea that I know what i'm talking about to some degree.
I will state from the off that I am not medically trained or even claim to be an expert in this ever expanding and sometimes conflicting ancestral health movement. The information and advice I will give is based on things that I have read, used and experimented with on myself and in some cases others and found to work in sometimes incredible ways. As well as expressing my own opinion on some of the conflicting information from others that we inevitably come across.
I have been in the health and fitness industry in England for over 12 years, after completing my HNC in sports science at university and also achieving my personal training qualifications I have worked in various mainstream gyms and health clubs and ran my own personal training studio.
For the most part of my career I have recommended the usual mainstream advice that we get taught, calories in calories out, cardio burns fat, eat your healthy whole grains, breakfast is the most important meal of the day the list goes on, but found that although I was teaching what I was trained to teach very few people were actually getting the results the we were after. Sure we had some weight loss and fitness increases but not to the degree I expected at the time.
Then one day around five years ago I was discussing diet and cholesterol with a client I was training at the time, their doctor was recommending that as she was approaching 65 years old she should go on a Statin drug just to be safe. She was upset and had began researching herself about cholesterol and what side effects the drugs can have and other ways to control it. During her research she unwittingly came across a book The New Evolution Diet by Professor Arthur De Vany and she lent me a copy to get my opinion.
I read the book cover to cover twice in a week, that was a lot for me, everything I was told before was flawed to some extent, the first pieces were coming together for me, it just made so much sense, we are still genetically the same as we have been for thousands of years throughout our evolution, our body expects the same inputs that we gave it over all that time from what we ate to how we moved and lived. My Interest grew and since then I have been on this evolutionary lifestyle path with a few tweaks here and there with some really interesting results for myself and others.
The passion that I now have for this lifestyle is the reason I have started this website and blog in the hope that I can help spread the word that what we are being told by the mainstream advice and media is flawed, we are seeing its effect on the population all around us everyday, but it can be different with just a few simple changes. Changes that I will be discussing in future posts and changes that I hope you will implement into your life.
